Congrats Twice Over!

If you've been stopping by this blog for awhile, you may remember that my cousin Jenny and her husband, Dave, brought home their son, David Kenneth, from the hospital last May. The latest: Davey's adoption was just finalized! Wonderful news! To add to this, Jenny just found out she's preggers with a girl! Congratulations to your growing family, Jenny, Dave, & Davey! Any girl names floating around at this time?! =)

Oooh, and the first of this month's referral cut-off **rumors** are in...to include Nov 2. Wouldn't that be peachy?

Birthday Wishes and Your Basic Update

It's a Triple Birthday Slam today! Birthday wishes to my blogger friends Lisa and Lee-Anne. Hope you're out enjoying yourselves immensely! Yes, I did say three birthday shout outs are in order. Both of you lovely ladies share my beautiful Bernadette's birthday!

Bernie and I tried agility a few summers ago. She loved it and was pretty good at it, except for the times she would go crazy and run in circles. Watching us both during those times was pretty entertaining! Check out Bernie's grin on Graduation Night! We had just earned the Most Improved award. =)
Forgot to mark "Happy" 13th LID yesterday. Well, plenty more to mark! haha
Spent today getting my fingerprints taken. Got lost going to the new building. I realized that since being logged in, the CC** has moved, my agency has moved and the fingerprint place has moved. I then pulled into the parking lot and saw a car with "Mest Up" on the license plate and agreed wholeheartedly. I also realized that (unless unforeseen miracle occurs) I will have to make another visit to my fingerprint friends. Really Mest Up. With my family's help I also spent much of the day moving furniture so that my house is the perfect home. Also so that my family will never have to move furniture again. =) Once I paint Ellie's new room I'll put some pictures up. I think this new idea is going to work out great. Fun fact: Ms. A. J*l*e used my agency for her recent adoption. Yeah, Kristen and I run with the "beautiful people." =) Last and probably least, we had 81 degree weather Thursday and then snowflakes today but now the sun is shining. Weird. That's all.

Just checking in.

Just look at this sweet face! And the pictures of the park in Changsha are amazing. This is an interesting article talking about a version of The Sw*n that is filmed in Changsha. Then again, you could skip the article and go back to the cute pictures of Ava!
My house is a pigsty as I try to figure out which room Ellie is going to have. Yeah, I changed my mind...again. I've had to much time to think and also I've kind of lost motivation to get things done. Must be the "no clear arrival time in site" syndrome. I think it's going around!
I've got my fingerprint appointment on Saturday. Pretty cool that I don't have to skip work. Then again, would I really mind skipping work?! I know...save all the sick days to use for travel/Ellie time.
The bottom paragraph of my appointment letter states how Chinese adoption are taking longer so no appointments will be made until a homestudy is received. This is to allow "optimum fingerprint clearance". Whatever. Funny, I started my blog just as I was off to get my first round of fingerprints taken. Here we are again...

Referrals have landed!

The CC** has completed referrals for those families logged in through October 24th! Congratulations to all the families! Families using my agency (dossiers logged in only once a month) got referrals this time. Those families had missed the cut-off by one day last month. Very exciting for them!

Eleven days further along, with four of them weekend days. We're still barely crawling, aren't we? I'm looking for a December/January/February referral at this point.

Lunar Eclipse

Never thought I'd say this, but I actually utilized some knowledge from my work-required Continuing Ed Classes! I've been attending lectures at the Planetarium. Yeah, so it has nothing to do with Speech, but that's another story... Hey, it's much better than the "paper folding to enhance learning" class I was took last year! Not great pics, but it was pretty amazing to watch.

We Are One

Last night before I drifted off to sleep, I finally could "picture" Elena. Now, I'll be the first to admit I'm very cynical and will quickly add the disclaimer I'm sure my "picture" of her was a wild conglomeration of everyone's referrals mushed up together, in a pink snowsuit! (What a cutie, though!) But all the same, it was a really comforting vision. =)
Adding to this wonderful personality profile of mine, I might add that I love to plan and do things (somewhat!) logically and unfortunately this scenic path allows me to do neither! Instead this wait gives me plenty of time for "what ifs" instead of "just deals" and so I fret about, well, whatever stuff a single-mother-in-waiting is wont to fret about in the dark ages between Winter Break and Spring Break! I don't write a lot of emotional posts, but I wanted to state that I really appreciate all of my family and friends who have been so supportive and loving. As I wait for Ellie, as some of you friends wait for your children, heck, as we ALL wait for the next rumor of the referral stork, "We Are One". Couldn't do it without y'all. Thank you. =)
