Happy Birthday to my Mom!

Celebrating with Strawberry Pie. Yum.
Giggy gets a wet birthday hug from her grandson, D. My niece and nephew had fun splashing in the pool while dinner was on the grill.

Marking...

months since my dossier was logged in at the CC@@. That's two years, three months, right? Slightly different than the 8 months wait I was initially prepared for. =)

Famousness in the Family

My cousin Liz and her husband Maht (drummer) are in a video promo! If you go to this site
and find the Replay Video script (to the right of the blue box) you can see them and hear the voiceover. You can also see bits of them at the end of the clip below.

Earthquake in China

The news that is coming out of China is horrible. Information is being updated occasionally at RQ as families are trying to find out more about their waiting children and the groups receiving their children in China right now. The 7.9 earthquake was centered in Sichuan province but has been felt in Beijing and as far away as Vietnam. Mother nature sure is packing a punch worldwide these days. My prayers go out to all affected by the devastation.

Stuff

I finally got to vote in an RQ poll! Ahhh, the little things!
Looking at the projections I'm thinking the horrid projections are a bit generous(even barring the Olym.pics). Therefore I am guessing for my LID of 2/16...maybe Christmas in China?
I had special games field day event Friday and met a family with a daughter from China who had come to see their son compete. Today my mom and her friend http://journeytoelena.blogspot.com/2008/04/shout-out.html met up with a China AP (adoptive parent) who actually had spoken at the seminar I went to when I lucked out and found my agency. They are logged in for DD#2 later in 2006. I also got the most heartfelt email from Michele who introduced me to this possibility of growing my family. Her words (and the attached pic of her two lovely daughters)helped remind me of why I set out on this path.
Alison previously blogged about Mr. D00ley
and I really liked last week's graphic. That's all. =)
