Forever Family Day!!!

Waiting at our initial airport with Jennifer (another single adoptive parent coming for #2!). Me with my dissolved air.borne water trying to keep my cold from returning. 12/12 Meeting Ben, our guide, at the Hong Kong airport. 12/13
12/14 Morning briefing before flight. Ben had lots of informationa and basically walked us through the check-in.

Nanchang. It was amazing to see the old with the new. The grand with the poverty all mixed in next to each other. Driving is a bit crazy. People on bicycles just slowly cycling along.

Just found out I'm one of the two families (out of 9) getting their baby today. Ellie and her nannies have traveled 5 hours by bus. Shane is stretching out in the back of the bus after the plane ride. Taking pictures and enjoying some breathing room.

Our hotel room. There was a crib, a stroller and baby tub all there waiting! Funny notes- you keep your room key card in a wall slot to keep the electricity on. There was a huge thermos of hot water all ready to go. It stayed HOT all day. Really hot. Ok, here she is! Xing Fu Li aka something that sounds like Lisa (will get spelling tomorrow) aka Ellie. She really looks like an Ellie.
She did not want ANYTHING to do with me. =)
A sort of calm picture feeding her baby cheese puffs which she proceeded to spit up on me duringthe next 45 minute crying/screaming episode after we were left alone. Shane and the group went to the market and she could not be calmed. I tried everything! She can howl just aswell as Bernie and Gracie! Finally Shane came back and she seemed to like him and then eventually she fell asleep. I signed a bunch of papers and I guess we're pretty much family now! Here she is looking like angel.

Finally asleep. She slept about an hour and then Shane and I played with her and got lots of giggles. She doesn't seem quite as advanced as her reports but she is imitating, blowing raspberries and has ticklish feet and thighs. She's got a bit of a cold and as I'm getting over mine we she coughs and I cough and it's like we're communicating! She likes to kick her left leg up like she's doing leg lifts! Hoping tomorrow at breakfast we keep moving forward! She is simply beautiful. Cutest lips! And I just love her giggle. We go with the others to get the rest of the babies and then time off before they do paperwork. Another big day! I'm exhausted so nite all.
