Referrals have started to Arrive

Congratulations to those families who have finally been matched with their child! It looks like referrals through November 30, 2005 (not official). I certainly don't mean to take away from the happiness of those families, but this was a measly allotment of 5 days of referrals (two of which were weekend days). Were there *that* many families logged in? *That* many fewer abandonments (hopefully)? We'll never know. Crazy (my new word for the year).

Referrals & (Mostly) Running

Congratulations to those families logged in through November 25, 2005. They will soon be seeing their babies pictures for the first time!
4 days of referrals...the number of days/referrals wasn't the worst case scenario (that would have been up to the 24th!) Did you see the RQ post noting how only four months of dossiers were referred over the whole of last year (9/1/06-9/1/07)? So we continue to inch along.

And speaking of inching along (smooth transition, eh?!) I finished my third half marathon yesterday! I "ran" til mile 9 and walked until the boardwalk (about mile 12) and picked it up again to the finish. I actually did better than last year , not quite beating my 1st race PR. Still, not bad for non-runner me and poor training in the last few weeks. As of yesterday when the gun went off, I just wanted to finish and be able to walk back to my car! =) The female winner from Kenya finished in 1:11:12. Wow. Maybe if I had just sprinted a bit more at the end?! =)
This year several Elvis (Elvi?) joined the masses of runners, also a group of Ge*ico cavemen (beards & fake teeth), a flamingo, and an impressive Sp*nge B*b. Running 13.1 miles with a cardboard box on your head & torso is an impressive feat in itself!
I keep thinking next year I won't be able to do this as I'll be in China...time will only tell if I'm hobbling around Labor Day 2008 or not. =)

Babysitting the Boy

Today was Aunt Shi-Shi & Davis time. Riding the caterpiller.

I put on a Mei-Mei video hoping he might retain those inherent speech sounds that all babies have--wonder if it will work?! Either way he really enjoyed watching those little girls dance and sing. He even let go of the remote and danced along with them!
Never too soon to start reading!
Gracie kept sniffing and licking D's face. Finally she gave up. Guess who searched her out for more doggie kisses?!

What a handsome lil' guy! He's really "scooching" along. (Hopefully no rug burns!) Thank goodness for Aunt Shi-Shi that he's now asleep in Ellie's crib!

Referral calls are being made for this month! Congratulations to all those families soon seeing their child's picture for the first time! Unofficially, the CC** has matched through 11/14/05. Also a big sigh of relief for those families through review (5/31/06)!
