Crazy Cakes Thank You

My friend Tracy at school gave me this wonderful book. I LOVE books and this is the sweetest story! Every time I go to Barnes & Noble I sneak a peek at it! Now I have a copy to share with Elena! I Love You Like Crazy Cakes was written by a mother who adopted a little girl from China. I hope to start reading it to my daughter when we meet China, along with telling Elena her own personal story, the words of which I've already been working through in my mind.

This gift certainly brightened up my Monday, especially since referrals were only up to May 25th (see Rumors blog below).

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness, Tracy!

I agree with Tiffany-
This was my first adoption kiddo book purchase. After I bought it I would sit and read it and think about my little Tate... It hits home because it is about a single woman who is adopting!!!
LOVE IT!!!!

I love that book. I need to break down and buy it. Maybe that's what I'll shop for this week. Seems like everyone loves it.

Elena is the name of my sister's daughter and the only grand-daughter in my family. Elena has her mother's red hair and fair skin. She loves soccer.

Her heritage on her father's side is Italian (Grandfather/Northern Italy) and Cuban (Grandmother/family fled Castro's regime). Her father, Ed, speaks English, Italian, and Spanish. Her mother, my sister Kathy, studied Japanese at the University of Tennessee where she met Ed.

Your daughter will be blessed with a mother who wanted and loved her even before she existed. What a special gift from God. What a special relationship the two of you will share.

My close friend, Martha, has a sister who adopted her son, Seth, from Russia. Seth is now 6. His life with his American mom and dad is especially sweet.

I have two cousins who were adopted back in the 1950's who remained with their adopted parents into adulthood and who still have close family ties with their birth brothers and sisters.

Congratulations on the adoption of your daughter. May every step in the process lead you closer together. God bless. Your brother's friend, Jeanette.
