"Patient" is Hard

I pick up my 4 year old niece from daycare and this Friday we went to St@rbucks as both of us "wanted a coffee" (i.e., Aunt Shi-Shi needed some caffeine bad). The line was very long and I reminded K. that we needed to be patient. K. replied (i.e., whined) "Patient is haaaaaard. I can't do it!" I started to laugh because she was so right and of course, the laughing did not go over well with her. Thank goodness we were next in line to order!
I brought home my "gigantic" Tinker.bell balloon and and my birthday violets. She really liked my violets or my "centerpiece" as she called it. The kid cracks me up.
I'm skipping out on the local FCC Chinese New Year tonight. Just can't handle explaining to all those people my 2 year and growing LID while their children are running around celebrating. Next year...=)
Instead, I am off to see M@tchbox Twenty and Al@nis Moriss.ette. School night, shmool night! Enjoy your week everyone.

From what I can tell, you are doing the patient thing very well. I know it's hard. Enjoy the concert!

I skipped CNY celebrations, too. For the very same reasons.

Awesome concert. I'm jealous. Would love to see them.

I hear ya, on skipping the CNY function. If I don't have a referral by Christmas, I'm not going to our China Support Group Christmas Party (we've been 3 years now).
Matchbox 20 & Al.anis sound awesome - I love both those bands! Isn't it ironic & One hand in my pocket are 2 of my most favourite songs!

Totally "GET" the skipping part. Next Saturday is our FCC. In my mind I am planning on going, in my heart I am thinking I will be a single chick, no kiddos, and go out to eat and movie.... time will tell.

You niece is so adorable!!! It is hard to wait in line.

I too have faded away from our group get togethers. I think I'll wallow a bit until we get a little closer.
I love how kids express themselves so freely while we try to hide how we really feel sometimes.
Waiting with you my friend.
